MULTI Award winning female artist Swazi Dlamini’s Third Album has finally arrived! The artist has been busy finalising the long awaited GOSPEL MEETS JAZZ album together with her husband, Violinist, Producer and Dreamgirls musical director - Tshepo Mngoma.

AFTER a successful series of shows in hometown Durban and a national tour of South Africa including Gauteng, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, Swazi promises her growing legion of fans of GOSPEL MEETS JAZZ an interesting expression of spiritual and inspirational music, an album like no other.

“GOSPEL AND JAZZ are soothing and inspiring genres and as an artist with a love for both it is only natural that I would fuse the styles to create my own sound,” says Swazi. Her love for music including both Jazz and Gospel in her background, Swazi has come up with a balanced album that reflects who she is and what she is about.  

INTRODUCING her third album, Swazi has made an appearance on one of SA’s biggest TV Gospel shows GOSPEL TIME. She performed two songs -  ‘’Mkhothameleni and Psalm 23’’ which wowed her fans.  This led to many enquiries re the release date. At a listening session  held at the Wits Amphitheatre  on the 5^th of March 2011, the  feedback during her one on one Q&A session with those in attendance it became evident that the album will be well received by Jazz and Gospel lovers alike.

SWAZI’S new album introduces a different sound, essence and feel to the Gospel and  Jazz genre. The marriage of brilliant vocals with Tshepo Mngoma’s string arrangements gives testimony to their love for music and each other. This album is worth the 5 year wait as Swazi’s last offering was in 2006.

SHE releases Swazi Dlamini LIVE in Durban “Gospel Meets Jazz” at the end of March 2011 under the Shammah Records label which she co-owns with award winning husband Tshepo Mngoma. Tshepo won the SAMA award as Best Newcomer 2010 for his album People and Places.

ALSO signed to this label is 2010 Crown Gospel Award winning Sifaniso (Best Jazz Album).  He features on a salsa song called Yekubuhle on Swazi’s forthcoming album. Also included are Crown Gospel award nominees Songs and Psalms - a gospel group made up of various singers from Durban.
